Starting your story
6Say when it happened and where you were before anything else. Your listener knows nothing yet, so one sentence that fixes the time and the place lets them picture everything you say next. It is also the easiest sentence in your answer to have ready before you start. For example: “One evening last winter, I was walking home from the community centre.”
